THE LITTLE PRINCESS

CHAPTER ONE

The owners of inspired artforms are not the creators but those who inspire them. This fairy story has now reached 15 chapters. I dedicate it to the owner, a very special friend. Never stop believing in the wonder of a fairy tale. My wish is that one day I will be able to read this fairy story to the owner in person. With love, with thanks, with pleasure.

Once upon a time in a far away land there lived a lively princess with a big heart and green sparkley eyes. As she was a 90s princess she had to work and although sometimes she was tired she was a happy princess who took pleasure from helping other people. One day she was sent to work for a curious dancing elf with a bent tale and a little pot belly. She found the elf to be interesting but he was prone to swishing his bent tale and became rather demanding. His demenour perplexed the princess as she could usually smooth such tempers with her warm smile and bright green eyes. It seemed strange to the princess that he was immune to any of her charms.

The elf was the unhappy courtier of a nasty wrinkley old dumpy dragon. The princess was duly sent to serve the dragon. No matter how hard the princess tried she couldnt stop the horrible fires that raged from the dragons mouth, words like a furnace cremating everything around. One day the elf whipped his bent tale at the dragon and the indignent dragon howled so much fired that they vowed never to talk to her again. The princess became upset as she was too sweet to work in such disharmony. Now she had been banished to work at the dragons castle. Even the castles magnificence could not abate the disgruntled dragon. The dragon accused the princess of dreadful deeds and commanded her to fufil the most perplexing and absurb tasks. The princess felt lonely and scared and most anxious. The dragon opaqued the princesss lustre and she felt folorn.

Late one night a tall valiant prince arrived in the land. The princess giggled as he spoke strangely but she was so happy because he tried to help by calming the little old dragon. The prince was a true prince, he was never scared and he could fufil any task no matter how bizarre or complex. Nothing was insummountable for the prince. He listened to the princess respected her and believed in her, helping her to be strong by recognising her virtues.

One day the dragon broke a promise to the princess making her weep with exasperation and futility. The strong prince offered his shoulder and his mind. What a true prince sighed the princess not like the run of the mill princes who just gazed at princesses and passed their time showing how strong they were. Those princes didnt listen or speak to princesses but were tedious and boring with their escapades to impress princesses.

One night the prince and princess escaped from the dragons castle, feasted, drank magic potions and danced. They lamented that they couldnt escape from the dragons grasp more often.

One day the bossy little dragon decided to go to another castle in a faraway land so the prince and princess prepared everything for the voyage. They toiled day and night. You may think that their great efforts would have appeased the dragon but no, the dragon breathed more fire as the full moon was coming............The princess wasnt surprised the moon was the godess of love and the more her love caressed the sky the more volatile the dragon grew. The dragon knew nothing of love.

The prince had to accompany the dragon on the voyage and so the prince and princess parted. It wasnt a sad parting as the prince and princess had seen such wonderful qualities in each other that they were please to have met and help each other in their assigned tasks.

As they bid their fond farewells the prince gave the princess some magic dust he had procured from a strange wizard. The dust was to restore the her beauty and charm and cleanse the effects of the dragons moods. The princess made her way wearily to her little cottage and fell into a long deep sleep. She dreamt a thousand dreams and awoke knowing that the prince was now far away but had protected her and was still serving the dragon.

Later that night she ventured to the abandonned castle. She washed away the sleep spun cobwebs under a marbled waterfall. She tiptoed into the lush gardens and contemplated the gleaming stars pouring peace upon the castle. The she raised her emerald eyes to the moon and made a heartfelt plea. Where ever the prince maybe may he be resting on a delicately woven bed of blissful dreams.........
